    Applying For NSSF (National Social Security Fund)

    Introduction

    The National Social Security Fund is a Kenyan government agency responsible for the collection, safekeeping, responsible investment and distribution of retirement funds of employees in both the formal and informal sectors of the Kenyan Economy. Participation for both employers and employees is compulsory. The fund is both a penison fund and a provident fund.

     

    How To Apply For NSSF


    Online Application

    1. Visit the NSSF official web page- https://selfservice.nssf.or.ke/
    2. Click on the NSSF Member’s self-service section.
    3. Choose accordingly; depending on your employment status.
    4. Fill in the form.
    5. Print the registration information.
    6. Visit an NSSF Branch Office with your documents.

    Required Documents

    • Kenyan National Identity Card or valid passport.
    • Your employer’s appointment letter. (Does not apply for self-employed persons)
    • Employer’s NSSF number.
    • A valid copy of your Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) PIN

     

    In-Person Application

    1. Visit any NSSF office branch in your locality or Huduma Centre.
    2. Approach the NSSF officer and fill in the application form.
    3. Attach all your documents.
    4. Pick your NSSF card

    Required Documents

    • Application form.
    • Original National Identity Card or valid passport and a copy.
    • Your employer’s appointment letter. (Does not apply for self-employed persons)
    • Employer’s NSSF number.
    • A valid copy of your Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) PIN.
